Yoshi Zen — Transformative Couture

The Story

About Yoshi Zen

Yoshi Zen transformative couture

Our Philosophy

The Art of Transformative Couture

Yoshi Zen uses fashion as a medium for empowerment, self-expression, and transformation. Every piece is a limited edition — handcrafted in our Bali production studio using laser-cut techniques and custom fabric printing.

This is not fast fashion. This is slow fashion — small batches of wearable art designed for dancefloors, ceremonies, and conscious gatherings worldwide. Each garment carries intention and craftsmanship that mass production can never replicate.

Designed to be an extension of your most authentic self

We reject fast fashion — each piece is handcrafted in our Bali studio

Our garments are wearable art for festivals, ceremonies, and everyday magic

A rebellion against conformity — fashion as transformation

Our Mission

Clothing That Awakens the Soul

To create garments that don't just dress the body — but transform how you feel inside it. When you contribute to the aesthetic vision of a festival or ceremony by expressing yourself in transformative couture, you make the experience better for everyone around you.

Mediocrity should not be the norm. We believe that costume culture and the Burning Man principle of participation should be woven into everyday life. Our goal is to spread good vibes on the dancefloor through our designs, and inspire others to express their authentic selves.

We want everyone who wears our clothing to experience a transformation — feeling empowered because they're adding beauty to the world.

What Guides Us

Our Values

Conscious Creation

Every stitch carries intention. We source sustainably, craft ethically, and produce in small batches — never sacrificing quality for quantity.

Radical Self-Expression

We believe clothing is an extension of the soul. Our designs empower you to express your most authentic, unfiltered self without apology.

Sacred Community

Yoshi Zen is more than a brand — it's a tribe of conscious leaders, artists, and healers who uplift each other and redefine what fashion means.

Handmade With Love

Each piece is handcrafted by our small team in Bali. Two seamstresses, one studio, infinite care. You're wearing someone's art, not a factory's output.

Rebellion Against Conformity

We reject fast fashion's pressure to blend in. Our wearable art is for those who refuse to play small — the Light Warriors of this world.

Art as Devotion

Fashion can be an act of devotion — to beauty, to purpose, to the collective experience. Every festival, every ceremony, every moment matters.

Founder & Creative Director

Yoshi Churnac

I was born in Jamaica and grew up in New York City where I attended the High School of Fashion Industries. I began to create costumes after attending my first Burning Man in 2013, where I was impressed by the level of beauty and creativity on playa.

Seeing people express their individuality through dancing and costuming is one of the most beautiful things I've witnessed at Burning Man and other transformative festivals. I left my career in business administration, and since 2015 have been designing full-time creating wearable art.

I believe that costume culture and the Burning Man principle of participation should be the norm everywhere. My goal is to spread good vibes on the dancefloor through my designs, and inspire others to express their authentic selves.

I want everyone who wears my clothing to experience a transformation, feeling empowered because they're adding beauty to the world.

Gilles Bonugli Kali

I was born in France and grew up in Marseille. I began photography in 1998 and then also delved into the other fields of digital visual arts. I am a self-taught artist who took advantage of our digital era where you can learn almost anything you want online if you are consistent with tutorials.

I worked with different big name brands in the sport industry over 10 years producing digital content for their advertising campaigns — pictures, films, and graphic design. I also had several solo and non-solo photography exhibitions in Marseille, Paris, Nantes, and NYC on various themes like Burning Man or People of Bangladesh.

My motto is "Diversity Makes Sense" — that is also why I don't stick to only one photography style or even one artistic discipline. I love to take a picture as much as to edit a video or design a laser-cut wearable piece.

Nowadays my main goal in life is to help my wife grow our brand. I will put all the techniques and everything I've learnt in the past years to achieve this goal.

Where It's Made

The Studio

Every Yoshi Zen piece is born in our studio in Bali, Indonesia — a small creative space where Yoshi works alongside two talented seamstresses. Each garment passes through her hands before it reaches yours.

We use a combination of high-quality fabrics — TENCEL, polyester silk satin, and sheer polyester satin — with precision laser-cutting techniques to create intricate patterns that would be impossible by hand alone.

From custom fabric printing to final stitching, the process is intimate and intentional. We don't mass-produce. We create, one piece at a time.
